'Slice the pie, Mom!'

Posted: 10:50 AM ET

I would like to send a shout out to my son, 2nd Lt. Tim Biocic.

2nd Lt. Tim Biocic is currently serving in Afghanistan.
2nd Lt. Tim Biocic is currently serving in Afghanistan.

2nd Lt. Tim Biocic is in the Army with the 10th Mountain Division and is currently serving in Afghanistan. When he was in the fifth grade, I sent him to a NASA Space Camp and he came home determined to have a military career.

He often would spend his free time with his buddies playing paint ball, in the forest, in full camouflage using whatever military tactics he knew.

He tried to teach me how to play military video games with him and I remember him telling me one time to 'Slice the pie Mom!'

I am so very proud of Tim and pray everyday for his safe return home!

Jayden can't wait for his daddy to come home.
Jayden can't wait for his daddy to come home.

My salute is for my husband Corporal Wilfredo 'Freddy' Jimenez. He's currently serving in southern Afghanistan, his first tour and we can’t wait for him to come home.

He has been in the military for three years now and he is going to his fourth year.

He left before our baby boy was born, a month before. So he won't be meeting him till he comes home.

We both decided not to know the gender, so it was a surprise to both of us. He hasn't met Jayden yet, but we can't wait for him to come home in December.

I just want him to know that we miss him dearly, we LOVE him and there's never a day that goes by that we don't ask God to bring him home safely, as well as for all our men and women out there. We thank you for your service! I love you baby!

We're one day closer! Semper Fi.

Sargent waiting to meet his new baby

Kinley Jade Long is still waiting to meet her daddy, Sargent Michael Long.
Kinley Jade Long is still waiting to meet her daddy, Sargent Michael Long.

My husband Michael Corey Long is in the marines and is currently serving in Iraq. He just got promoted to Sargent!!

The biggest and most important change in his life has been the birth of his first child Kinley Jade Long. Since he has been deployed in Iraq he missed her birth and has yet to meet his new baby girl.

Kinley can't wait to be in her daddy's arms and Michael can't wait to hold her. Michael is an amazing person and will also be an amazing father.

Please be safe and we love you. We all miss you like crazy!!!!

His troops are in good hands

Posted: 08:17 AM ET

Check out today's salute, from a woman to her fiance.

This salute is from Beth Markham to her fiancé Captain Shaun Conlin Jr. Company commander for 2-12 Infantry Charley Company. Captain Shaun Conlin Jr. is on his 3rd deployment in six years, this time to Afghanistan. He's the company commander of a light infantry company located in North East Afghanistan. He is in the army.

I admire his courage and leadership; he continues to make me so proud. His troops are in good hands as Shaun responds amazing under stress and pressure.

Serving his community and or country continues to be extremely important to him and he hopes to continue to serve our local community when he finishes his time in the military.

When he returns in June of next year, we will be getting married in Seattle and hopefully be able to spend a few years in grad school without the looming threat of another immediate deployment.

He misses cooking his own food and healthy snacks, good coffee, and our dog Roxy.

LCPL Thomas Vest and his daughter Audrey. How cute!
LCPL Thomas Vest and his daughter Audrey. How cute!

My name is Holly Vest and I would like to salute my wonderful husband LCPL Thomas Vest, he has been serving in the USMC for a little over 2 years and is currently serving on his first deployment in Afghanistan.

We have two daughters, Peyton (2 1/2 years) and Audrey (1 1/2 years) and are expecting our 3rd daughter, Samantha, within the next few weeks, which unfortunately my husband will not be present for.

We were high school sweethearts who married young and settled down with our children and we are currently stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I want my husband to know that our family loves him and misses him dearly. He is always in our thoughts and prayers. We are so proud of him because he is an amazing father, husband, friend, and marine. We look forward to his homecoming!

We are all so proud of him and want him to know he and his fellow comrades are in our family's thoughts and prayers constantly.

What a truly adorable couple!
What a truly adorable couple!

My husband SrA Jacob Andre and I are new parents to our 3 month old son Brenden. He is a wonderful father and soldier. He serves in the United States Air Force. He has been on one deployment already and he is set to deploy again next month.

He is the love of my life and I wish him a safe deployment.

I will miss him terribly and I know baby Brenden will too. He'll be missing Brenden's first words and seeing him crawl or walk for the first time and I wish he could be here during those times but sadly he won't. He won't be here for our 1 year wedding anniversary but he will always be in my heart.

I want to thank him for all he has done for me. He is doing so much for me and our country. He says no matter how far apart we are from each other he will find ways to show his love and care for us.

May God keep watch over him. I LOVE YOU JACOB!!!

My husband, SPC. Thomas Kirkwood, is in the Army National Guard. He is currently in Afghanistan going through his second deployment. He is a wonderful husband and father.

Thomas is my best friend and soul mate. We have been married 3 years this coming October. We have a little boy, Dallas, who will be 2 August 11. The two of us miss Thomas with all of our hearts.

We just want Thomas to know that everyone here at home supports him, loves him, and always keeps him in their prayers.

Our family are members of Buck Creek United Methodist Church, and thanks to their support we are all able to cope/deal with this deployment.

I miss my son and daughter in law very much. PFC Scott Woods and PFC Rebecca Woods are stationed at Cobb Adder Iraq. Although they have only been gone for 2 months it feels like forever.

Pfc Scott Woods and Pfc Rebecca Woods met in the military while they both were stationed at Fort Drum N.Y. They are both in the Army. My son has been in for 3 years now and we are all very proud of him.

He is the youngest of three brothers and after he joined the service his older brother saw that he did it so he joined the Air Force. I am very proud of my sons for there contribution to our country.

My son and his wife are both stationed at Cobb Adder Iraq. I miss my son terribly, you see he is not only my son but he is my best friend. We have always been very close and shared all of our ups and downs.

Thank you for taking the interest in my son and daughter in law. Sadly but proudly missed by his family.

Kellie Ibarra wants to let her husband Carlos know he is always in her thoughts.

I salute my husband, Sgt. Carlos Ibarra, on his second tour with the United States Marine Corps. He is entering his third month of deployment in Southern Afghanistan with the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, Comm. Company.

Despite being thousand of miles away in harsh conditions, he continues to be a supportive and loving husband. Even after working long hours, seven days a week, he still manages to finds the time to show just how much he is thinking of me.

Thank you for serving our country and for putting forth your life day after day. We appreciate your heroic services. Thank you for continuously being a great husband. Though the days may feel like years, I look forward to your safe return home to the states. I love you with all my heart and you are always in my thoughts.

- Kellie Ibarra
