I would love to salute and thank my husband SPC James L. McCleary and his company for all the hard work they are doing for their families and our country. We just got married of Feb 13th and this is his 2nd deployment and it's so hard on me, as well as the family. I miss our 3 o’clock-in-the-morning talks and just laughing. We miss him and we want him and his company to all come home safely.

Salute to SPC. Ashton Wilcox

Posted: 10:17 AM ET

This salute is from Alexandria Wilcox to her husband Specialist Ashton Wilcox, U.S. Army National Guard. She writes:

The soldier I am saluting is my husband, SPC. Ashton Wilcox with the US Army National Guard out of Ft. Mill, SC. He is currently serving on his first tour to Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom. While unselfishly serving our Country he has missed the entire pregnancy for our first child. Although he got to come home on two weeks RR to see him be born, he had to leave when he was 7 days old to return to Afghanistan.

Our first wedding anniversary is on the 27th and I want to give a special salute to him for the most amazing year! I am so humbled to be the wife of such an amazing man and more proud that he is serving our Country. Our son, Brady, who is two months old, loves his Daddy so much and can't wait for his safe return home so he can be held by him! I love him more and more each day, and to think, the man I love and will spend the rest of my life with, is an American Hero! I am blessed and so proud to be able to be called the wife of a true hero! So Happy first Anniversary! We will have so many more to celebrate together!

Salute to Tsg. Curtis Frazier, USAF

Posted: 09:36 AM ET

This salute is from Deidre Frazier to her husband Technical Sergeant Curtis Frazier, U.S. Air Force. She writes:

Tech Sgt Curtis L Frazier is a true example of where hard work, will and determination can get you. He is a man that is a great example for his family, friends, co-workers and many others look up to. He has always made himself available to mentor young men in our community and family. He enlisted into the reserve as a senior in high school and worked 2 jobs to further his education with a college degree after high school along with serving in the reserve. He is the type of person that will go the extra mile for his family, friends and his country which is proven by him still serving in the military since high school.

We would like to honor him for Father's Day since he was not able to be here to spend it with his children Sharmin and Little C.

Salute to LCPL John Sherman

Posted: 09:23 AM ET

This is a salute from Heidi Thorsness to her son Lance Corporal John Cody Sherman, U.S. Marine Corps:

My son joined the Marines at the ripe old age of 28. No, he wasn’t floundering in life; he had his own electrical business and owned a home. Cody felt he needed to be a part of something bigger than himself. Cody had talked about joining up, but when my youngest son died in a car accident in 1999, he said he wouldn’t do that to me or his grandmother Marky Thorsness. But, it was something he just had to do.

Cody feels like his mission is to help out the younger Marines that he calls his “little brothers”.  He is currently fighting the Taliban somewhere in Afghanistan. His anxiously awaited return will not come too quickly for his family or his girlfriend Mary Vernon. Cody will turn 30 years old on July 8th in Afghanistan.

Happy Birthday Son, be safe, come home to us soon. We all are so proud and love you so much.
