Posted: 08:40 AM ET

This salute is from Michael Branham to his son Senior Airman Cory Branham, U.S. Air force. Senior Airman Cory Branham (is) currently stationed in Afghanistan. His dad writes:

Cory, the dedication you have shown in the service to your country, is truly inspiring to all who know you and the people you have touched. You are an inspiration to your family and friends who know the sacrifices you have made come from your heart, and your heart is as big as a lion. Your senses of duty, honor, and commitment are equally balanced by your kindness, determination, and love of family. Hurry home, son, Shari and I miss you, your sisters miss you, as do your grandparents, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins! I'm looking forward to our trip when you get home and the many, many football games in our future. lol Love, Dad

Salute to Troops: Sergeant Mark Foster

Posted: 09:20 AM ET

This salute is from Jodie Foster to her husband Sergeant Mark Foster, U.S. Army. She writes:

SGT. Foster you are a wonderful man, husband, father, son, and Soldier. Your family loves you more than you can ever imagine and to us you are a true hero. Your parents are proud of you, I am blessed to be married to you, and your kids think you are cooler than Superman. Think of us often and know that everyday we are praying for you. Thank you for being you and thank you for loving us. A big salute to my husband as well as the entire U.S. military. It is because of brave and selfless men and women like you that keeps this country free...if only freedom didn't come at such a high price. God bless those serving overseas and may you all stay safe and come home soon to enjoy the freedom that you, and only you, have given to us.
-Your wife and kids

This is a salute from Shauna Brangaccio to her husband Staff Sergeant John Brangaccio, U.S. Army. She writes:

My husband John Brangaccio will be deploying to Afghanistan in just two weeks. He is an E6 in the Army, but did ten years in the Marine Corps before joining the Army 3 years ago. We have three children between us, Jeremy and Cheryl are John's children from a previous marriage and my son Chase, John's step son. They are 9, 10 and 11. My husband and I were high school sweet hearts 13 years ago when we separated and went our separate ways. We ended up back together last year and were married in January of this year. John is my hero and we are very proud of him.

Charlie Wilson's Salute to the Ladies

Posted: 03:15 PM ET

This salute is from singer Charlie Wilson who we caught up with at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans.

You may know Charlie Wilson from "The Gap Band," probably best known for their song “You Dropped A Bomb On Me” (baby).

In this smooth salute to the Ladies of the armed forces, he incorporates his song “Charlie, Last Name Wilson." Enjoy.
