August 31, 2010 Salute to SPC. Sam NeelyPosted: 12:21 PM ET
My husband Spc. Sam Neely and I are newlyweds. We got married in December and he was told he would deploy in May of 2010. He is currently in Kunar, Afghanistan. In January he went to training for a month and we got pregnant in February! He has not been here for the pregnancy but will come home in October, just two days before my estimated due date (we are keeping are fingers crossed that he gets to be here for the delivery). He is serving in the Army and has been in the service for six years. He is up for promotion as well. When he was told he was deploying he stated, "It is my time to go and let others come home to rest and be with their families. It is my duty to serve my country." He plans to re-enlist in April and more than likely make this his career. He has one sister and four nephews back home that think the world of him, actually his whole family and friends do. He has always put others before him and is truly devoted to the Army and his country. His family and I miss him greatly and can not wait to see him in October for his R & R and hopefully he will be here for the delivery of his daughter. Throughout these past few months he has remained positive (he is always positive in any and all situations) and has been the one to keep everyone here going and strong. He is truly a hero. This salute is from Chelsea De Angelo to her husband Specialist Michael De Angelo, U.S. Army. My name is Chelsea De Angelo and my husband's name is Michael De Angelo. He is an E4 in the U.S. Army. We live in Akron, Ohio. We have been married for almost two years and we met on myspace during his first deployment. He is my best friend and my soul mate and he keeps me sane through the deployments. He is the funniest person I have ever met and the most intelligent. He loves his job and it shows. He loves helping people and he cares a lot about everyone. He never gives up. We never imagined that we would be where we are today when we first started talking on the internet. We are both very lucky. He is my hero and I love him more than anything. Upload your Salute to Troops at iReport! Filed under: Army Salute to Troops August 26, 2010 Salute to Sgt.
