Salute to LTC Noah Strong

Posted: 10:34 AM ET

This is a salute from the Strong Family, wife Wilma, daughter Noelle, and son Evan. They recently came to the HLN's headquarters at CNN Center in Atlanta where they recorded their salute.

Wilma Writes:
My husband, LTC Noah Kenneth Strong has served our country for more than 28 years as a Quartermaster Officer in the Army, National Guard, and Army Reserves. He is currently serving at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait as Chief of Current Operations, G-4. This is his second deployment to the region and the first holiday season we will be apart. Despite the time and space difference, and the intensity of his responsibilities, Noah stays abreast and involved in our home life.

Unlike his previous deployments, technology has afforded us the opportunity to communicate via Skype on a regular basis and our 12-year-old son, Evan, often calls on his dad to play a game of on-line chess or play a few notes on his trumpet and of course dad gladly accepts, even when it means sacrificing his sleep.

Our 17-year-old daughter, Noelle, is a high school senior and will be participating in her debutante cotillion this November. As the time nears, she gets emotional that her dad won’t be there to escort her, but we look forward to him returning in the spring and celebrating her graduation!

Managing alone takes its toll, but I appreciate Noah’s insistence on getting together on-line to pay bills and manage household expenses. He remains an active part of our daily lives, but we are aware that duty calls and has priority for now.

We appreciate this opportunity to salute our troop. Thank you Noah, for your selfless service to your country and fellow soldiers. You make us proud to fly the flag and yellow ribbon in our front yard. We love you and want you to continue to be ‘Army Strong!’
