Salute to SPC Christopher Zuniga

Tuesday’s salute is from Maria Zuniga of Waco, TX for her son, Army Specialist Christopher Zuniga.

Maria writes:
I’d like to salute my son Christopher who is currently deployed to Iraq. This is his 1st time being deployed.

As a child Chris always talked about being in the ARMY so I went along with him and would buy him little army men to play army.

Chris is a very giving loving big-hearted person, he has 3 children, Bubba 6, Sissy 5 and Austin 3 and wife Leticia, they are stationed at FT. Riley living on base.

We all miss him dearly…

Salute to CW2 James McLean

Today's salute is from Danielle McLean of Fort Carson, Colorado. She is in 11th grade and she is saluting her father Army Chief Warrant Officer 2 James McLean. Danielle said she along with her sisters and mother are so excited her father will be home for the holidays.

Salute to Captain Kenneth Ward

I would like to salute my wonderful husband, Captain Kenneth Ward. We have been married for nearly 6 years and I am delighted that after enduring over 3 years apart and 2 combat deployments, we will finally be spending this Christmas together. Ken is a Blackhawk helicopter pilot for the army, a bronze star recipient, has a masters degree, and is now supporting me as I work on my doctorate.

He is brave, he is brilliant, and I am lucky to call him my best friend.

I love you Ken, and I’m so grateful to finally have you home for the holidays!

My name is Rachel Idso. I’m from Milwaukee Wisconsin but we are currently stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas. I would like to send a salute to my husband, 1st Lt. Stefan Idso who is currently deployed at Balad Air Force Base in Iraq. I miss him so much, especially during the holiday season, but I’m very proud of his service to his country. He is truly my hero.
