We have 2 children, Ryan is 2 years old and Connor is 16 days old. It's really sad he had to miss the birth of our second son due to this war. He won't meet Connor until May 2011. But we're very looking forward to him coming home to hold his new baby, and golf with Ryan.

I'd like to salute my husband, CW4 Ken Linkous. Ken has served in the U.S. Army for nearly 25 years and is a pilot currently serving in Afghanistan. This makes his third deployment. I feel so fortunate to know Ken and even more fortunate to be his wife. It's hard to express how special and wonderful Ken is to me and those around him.

I am in the Army, serving my second tour of duty overseas, in Baghdad and Bagram. This shout out is for my fiancé, Vince, a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps who has walked beside me throughout my deployments, and been my strength on the home front. While I was home on leave in September, he proposed, and now we are planning an August wedding in Texas when I return. Being a dual military couple is difficult, but he is so kind and patient and supportive that it truly makes this deployment easier knowing I can count on him at home.
